Portable information terminal equipment is composed of first equipment 1 having a telephone function and a first display part 15, with which a user can perform an input operation, for displaying prescribed data to be transmitted/received and second equipment 2 having a facsimile function and a second display part 26, with which the user can perform an input operation, for displaying prescribed data to be transmitted/received. At either the first equipment 1 or the second equipment 2, a mode setting part 28 is formed for setting the display state of the first and second display parts 15 and 26 into a first display mode for displaying respectively independent information on the respective display parts or a second display mode for displaying the related information over both the display parts 15 and 26 and by operating the mode setting part 26, the display state of the first and second display parts 15 and 26 is switched.
