To enlarge the light receiving area of solar cell and the display area of an LCD by arranging a transparent LCD having no reflector on the upper side of a solar cell unit and eliminating the display window for LCD.
A slider case 11B is provided with a transparent protective cover 21B welded ultrasonically to the display plane side of a frame-like case body 15B, and a solar cell unit 39 is returned at a retaining part 24 around the inner wall of the body 15B. A transparent LCD 37 is secured, through a packing, between the retaining part 24 and cover 21B in a first space 29. A through hole 25 for connector and a light receiving window 27 for the unit 39 are made at the retaining part 24 while the unit 39 and electronic circuit parts 47, 49 mounted on a cover body 41 are housed in a second space 31. This structure eliminates the need for providing the unit 39 with a display window of LCD 37 thus maximizing the light receiving area of solar cell within a limited surface area.
