Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a portable navigation system which can be removed from a vehicle and carried for walking in which the position is recorded automatically upon removable from the vehicle and a user can be guided to the position of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: A GPS antenna 1 is fixed to a dashboard, or the like, when a portable navigation system is mounted on a vehicle and fixed to an antenna fixing section 2 above the navigation system body 10 when the portable navigation system is carried. When fixing of the GPS antenna 1 to the antenna fixing section 2 is detected through a microswitch 13, the control section in the navigation system body 10 controls a positional information memory section to store the current position and date automatically.
