The portable radio apparatus comprises: a mail information detection unit 101 for detecting call arrival, during absence, and presence/absence of non-read or non-answered mail; a situation detection unit 102 for detecting predetermined environmental data added to the mobile radio equipment and outputting a result of detection indicative of whether or not a value of the detected environmental data is a predetermined value or higher; and a notification method control unit 103 for controlling a notification frequency of a notification unit based on the detection output from the mail information detection unit and the detection output from the situation detection unit.
