Pressure sensors 33 and 34 are provided on both sides of the upper face/lower face of the portable information terminal 31 when the portable information terminal is laterally held or on both sides when the portable information terminal is vertically held. When user's finger and hand touch the pressure sensors 33 and 34, the screen display direction of a display part 32 is switched. When the user laterally holds the portable information terminal 31, the display part 32 is screen-displayed in a long side direction since the user's finger and hand do no touch the pressure sensors 33 and 34. When the user vertically holds the portable information terminal 31, the user's finger and hand touch the pressure sensors 33 and 34, the display part 32 is screen-displayed in a short side direction.
