To provide a portable terminal with a reminder function which can automatically stop operation of the reminder function in a situation that a user notices a reminder but cannot operate the portable terminal.
A portable terminal detects whether a user operated the portable terminal after the start of notification of an incoming call, and also detects vibration states of the portable terminal before and after the incoming call to determine whether or not the user can operate the portable terminal based on presence of the user's operation of the portable terminal and change in vibration states before and after the incoming call. When it is determined that the user cannot operate the portable terminal, the portable terminal stops operation of a reminder function.
