PURPOSE: To facilitate easy control of the position of a magnetic head without performing the disassembling control by fixing a lever which can be controlled with an arc drawn vertically to the lengthwise direction to an arm holding a magnetic head so that a coupled state is released at an end of said lever.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic head 3 is attached to an arm 8, and this arm 8 is fitted to a guide pin 1 fixed to a position controller main body 7. The head contact pressure is controlled by a control screw 6 and a coil spring 4. An end of a control lever 9 is fixed to the arm 8 with a screw 10, and the center part of the lever 9 is fitted into the pin 1. The deviation between a head gap 3a and a stripe 2a of a magnetic card 2 is corrected with automatic control between a hemispherical matter 1a at the root of the pin 1 and a contact point. While an error with which the gap 3a is not orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of the stripe 2a is adjusted by shifting the lever 9 right and left and then shifting the guide point of the pin 1. Thus, it is possible to control easily the position of the head 3 without performing the disassembling control.
