A chip 10 with a band wherein an engaging hole and a slit 14 are formed on a tip end of a band part 3 of a binding band 5 continuously arranged on a chip part 2, and a rod shaped auxiliary fixture 20 wherein engaging projections 21 inserted and engaged with engaging holes 13 are arranged on both end sides of the auxiliary fixture 20, are prepared, the band part 3 is wound around a wire harness W, and is temporarily locked with a lock part 4. Each engaging projection 21 of the auxiliary fixture 20 is inserted and engaged with the engaging hole arranged on a tip end of the band part 3 of the chip 10, and positioning is carried out. After that, the band part 3 is drawn out from the lock part 4, locking is just carried out, the wire harness W is bound and tightly fastened, and thereby, the chip 10 is positioned and fixed to the wire harness W.
