PURPOSE: To prevent breakage of a pouring nozzle and to improve safety of operation by arranging reinforced member along flowing direction of molten metal between wide main walls faced to a pouring nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: A mold 11 having endless casting belts 12 and shifting short sides 17 arranges the flat pouring nozzle 7 extending from a sliding nozzle 5. Two pieces of the reinforced member 28 are fitted to between the wide main walls 23 faced to the pouring nozzle 7. Then, the reinforced member 28 is formed with alumina-graphite, etc., and fixed to the main wall 28 mechanically or through adhesive. Even in case the inner part of the nozzle 7 becomes minus pressure during the operation, the reinforced member 28 supports the main wall 23 from the inner part of the nozzle and collapse caused by outer pressure is prevented. By this method, the breakage of the nozzle 7 is prevented and at the same time, the safety of the operation is improved, because leakage of the molten metal does not occur.
