PURPOSE: To obtain a new powder coating compsn. which can be hardened at rather low temp., which has fluidity and which can form high-quality coatings.
CONSTITUTION: This powder coating compsn. has 20 to 80°C glass transition temp. and is obtd. by (a) homogeneously dissolving the following components (A) to (C) in an inert solvent having 50 to 150°C boiling point or boiling range, (b) removing the solvent from the obtd. soln., and (c) converting the obtd. solid into a powder. The components are (A) a polyol component having 30 to 155 hydroxyl value and 30 to 120°C glass transition temp. and containing a hydroxy- functional copolymer of at least tone kind of olefinic unsatd. monomers, (B) a polyisocyanate component having blocked isocyanate groups and -45 to 45°C glass transition temp. and contains (i) a ketoxime-blocked polyisocyanate having one or more biuret groups, isocyanurate groups, uretidione groups and urethane groups such as a polyisocyanate produced from 1,6-diisocyanate hexane, and (C) a catalyst component for the reaction of the isocyanate group component with the hydroxyl group component.
