PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powder-containing emulsion which has excellent usability and stability with time and unique sense of use, especially useful as a make-up cosmetic and to provide a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: This powder-containing emulsion comprises an oil phase and a W/O type emulsion phase which are each independently dispersed in an outer water phase positioned at the outside against an inner water phase of the W/O type emulsion, and a hydrophobic powder is dispersed into either of the inner water phase and the outer water phase and the outer water phase is a continuous phase. The powder-containing emulsion contains a water-soluble polymer and saponin. This method for producing the powder-containing emulsion comprises mixing a W/O type emulsion with a water-soluble polymer-containing aqueous solution to give a W/O/W type emulsion, and on the other hand, mixing the water-soluble polymer-containing aqueous solution with saponin and an oily component to give an O/W type emulsion, mixing the hydrophobic powder with either phase of the emulsions and then mixing the W/O/W type emulsion with the O/W type emulsion.
