PURPOSE: To form a green strip having a high density and strength by magnetizing rolling rolls at the time of supplying magnetic material powder between the rolling rolls and rolling the powder to obtain the green strip.

CONSTITUTION: Layers of a ferromagnetic material 8 are formed on the horizontally disposed rolling rolls 6, 7 and are magnetized to permanent magnets. The powder 9 of the magnetic material is supplied into a hopper 3 perpendicularly above the rolling rolls 6, 7 and the rolling rolls 6, 7 are rotated to press the magnetic material powder 9 with a press device 10, by which the powder is rolled. The magnetic material powder 9 is held attracted to the ferromagnetic materials 8 and is rolled in this state to form the green strip 5 which is discharged downward via nonmagnetic guides 11, 12. The green strip 5 having a large thickness is thereby produced.
