To provide a power amplifier circuit for a communication unit that amplifies power with a high efficiency for all transmission frequency bands, without causing increase in circuit scale.
The power amplifier circuit has a 1st amplifier system, consisting of a 1st stage amplifier 11 that amplifies modulation signals with a prescribed frequency band, of a next stage amplifier 12 that amplifies power of an amplified output of the 1st stage amplifier 11 as it is and provides an output as a 1st transmission signal, and of a final stage amplifier 13 and has a 2nd amplifier system, consisting of a frequency conversion circuit comprising a local oscillation circuit 14 and a mixer circuit 15, that convert the amplified output of the 1st stage amplifier 11 into a signal with a different frequency band from that of the 1st transmission signal, of a next-stage amplifier 16 that amplifies the power of the output signal from the frequency conversion circuit and provides the output of the amplified output as a 2nd transmission signal and of a final stage amplifier 17.
