PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for independent provision of optical cables, facilitate laying and enable optical communication system to be performed simultaneously through laying of one length by containing one or more communicating optical transmission fibers on the side inner than the sheath of the cable.
CONSTITUTION: Optical fibers 2 are contained together with a metal conductor 1 within the sheath 4 of a power transmission cable and are buried within an insulator 3. The optical cables used for various communications permit safe and reliable communications even if laid parallel with the power cable because optical fibers are electrically non-inductive and therefore laying of one length of said cable turns out that the optical communication system has also been installed simultaneously, thus extreme conveniences are provided
