Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power consumption reducing apparatus in an ad-hoc network, and to provide a method therefor.
SOLUTION: In the power consumption reducing apparatus includes a periodic active state converter for converting, from a non-active state into an active state, in which larger power is consumed at each initiation period; a beacon frame receiver for receiving at the active state converted in the periodic active state converter, when the beacon frame receiver for receiving a beacon frame, an initiation window set section setting as an initiation window, when a time period value of an initiation window, representing that the active state continues for a predetermined period, is effective among the field values of the receiving beacon frame; an initiation window period counting section for counting the period values in the start-up window set in the start-up window set section; and a non-active state converter for converting from the start-up window to the non-active state, when the count is completed in the start-up window count section.
