This power converter 11 of an electric train driven by variable frequency variable voltage output to a running main electric motor mounted on cars of the electric train outputs power with a variable frequency variable voltage, through selectors 41, 51 for selecting either of the main electric motor and the air-conditioned compressor or the both in accordance with the running state of the cars.
