Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for a vehicle which can be reduced in size and weight and in which a heat dissipation fan is prevented from being damaged.SOLUTION: A power converter includes: a device main body 14 having a bottom face 18; a plurality of semiconductor switching elements 26 which are disposed in the device main body and which constitute a power converting circuit; a cooler 28 which extends from the bottom face of the device main body downward, includes a heat dissipation part having heat dissipation fins 34 cooled by traveling air of a rail car, and cools the semiconductor switching elements; and a plurality of support legs 60 which extend from the bottom face of the device main body further downward than the heat dissipation fins and which can support the device main body. The plurality of support legs is disposed at positions deviated from an inflow path for the traveling air to the heat dissipation fins.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
