Title:
POWER CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3683796
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the substantial area required for installation of a power converter and thus reduce the area of the site of a substation or the like where the power converter is installed.
SOLUTION: A power converter is formed by placing a plurality of semiconductor stacks 1 provided with a semiconductor device; a cooler comprising a heat receiving block installed in contact with the semiconductor device, and a heat pipe installed on the heat receiving block and having a plurality of heat radiation fins; and a pressing means for pressing the semiconductor device and the heat receiving block of the cooler against each other, in a case 20 so that the semiconductor stacks are arranged on the front row and the backmost row in the back-and-forth direction and in the mid area between them. The semiconductor stacks 1 positioned on the front row are so supported that the stacks can be moved in the direction of the front and the rear of the case 20 through a guide rail 27.
