In a hybrid vehicle 20, in order to stop an engine 22 while a clutch C0 is connected to change a state of a transmission 60 to transmit power from a motor MG1 to a driving shaft 67, when for example, transmitting the power from the motor MG 2 to a driving shaft 67 by the transmission 60, rotating speed of the motor MG1 is adjusted so that the motor MG1 can be connected to the driving shaft 67 while the clutch C0 is released, while setting a torque instruction to the motors MG1 and MG2 so that the power based on a required torque Tr* may be output to the driving shaft 67; the power is transferred from the motor MG2 to the motor MG1 while connecting both motors MG1 and MG2 to the driving shaft 67 by the transmission 60; and connection of the motor MG 2 and the driving shaft 67 is released by the transmission 60.
