Title:
POWER SOURCE EXCITING SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH VOLTAGE AND CURRENT ADJUSTMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02197242
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of an exciting coil by regulating a voltage generated from two sets of P bars through vector sum. CONSTITUTION: A generator 56 is provided with P bars for generating an exciting power. A generated power is regulated through a voltage and current regulation means 58 and fed through an exciting transformer 34, a rectifier and a controller 20 and a slip ring 24 to a generator 56 for the purpose of excitation. Three P bars are provided for each set of armature slots in the generator 56 at an interval of 120 deg. and three auxiliary P bars are provided for each set of other armature slots. The voltages being induced in two sets of corresponding P bars have phases being dependent on the angular interval thereof and when they are connected in series, a vector sum voltage is produced. The voltage can be regulated to an arbitrary level by selecting the angle of the P bars appropriately and the transformer 34 can be reduced in size.
