To provide an AC power supply device that determines whether or not the connection of each electrical appliance is permitted and that, when the supply of power is stopped, disconnects the electrical appliance to automatically resume the supply of power.
The AC power supply device 3 comprises a connection 31 where a power line is connected to the electrical appliance 2; a connection detection part 34 that determines whether or not the electrical appliance 2 is connected; a communication part 332 that receives from the electrical appliance 2 authentication information indicating that the electrical appliance 2 is supposed to receive electric power from the AC power supply device 3; an authenticated appliance information storage part 334 that stores the authentication information received from the electrical appliance supplied with electric power; an appliance authenticating part 333 that, when the authentication information received matches the authentication information stored in the authenticated appliance information storage part 334, authenticates the electrical appliance 2 as the appliance to be supplied with electric power from the AC power supply device 3; and a switch control part 335 and a power supply switch part 32 that stop the supply of electric power to the electrical appliance 2 when the electrical appliance 2 is not authenticated.
