Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve riding comfort with no gear shift shock by absorbing the gear shift shock generated by a mechanical automatic transmission by a continuously variable transmission while reducing the gear ratio load applied to a belt-type continuously variable transmission while using the mechanical automatic transmission.
SOLUTION: This power transmission device for a vehicle transmits power of an engine 41 to drive wheels 2 through a continuously variable transmission 43 and a mechanical automatic transmission 44. The shift timing from a low gear 65b to a high gear 65a of the mechanical automatic transmission is set by being overlapped on the shift operation C of the continuously variable transmission, switching of the gear of the mechanical automatic transmission is performed in a state where room still remains in the continuously variable gear shift operation, and a shift shock is absorbed by the continuously variable gear shift operation.
