Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve an efficient utilization of motor power by providing driving and driven pulleys, each consisting of a fixed flange and a movable flange which are able to take an axial displacement relative to each other, and thus adjusting effective diameters of pulleys in response to the rotation frequency. CONSTITUTION:The driving pulley 3 consists of a pair of side plates 3a, 3b. The side plate 3a is movable only to the axial direction of shaft 1' with its upper side shaped like a conical basin 3d and several balls 18 provided between itself and a stopper 17 fixed to the shaft 1'. The driven pulley 5 also consists of a pair of side plates 5a, 5b, the side plate 5a being fixed to the shaft 6 through a stopper 21, and side plate 5b movable only in the axial direction. At the center of two side plates 5a, 5b, a compartment 5d is formed between two conical basins face to face with each other, with several balls 22 installed therein.
