Abstract:
To provide a method for recovering a precious metal and a device for recovering a precious metal capable of facilitating dissolution and recovery of a precious metal embedded in a solid polymer membrane of a membrane electrode junction when recovering the precious metal included in a fuel cell and a water electrolysis device to improve the recovery efficiency of the precious metal.SOLUTION: The method for recovering a precious metal from a fuel cell or a water electrolysis device has a cooling step for cooling a membrane electrode junction of the fuel cell or water electrolysis device to a temperature below the freezing point at which water included in the membrane electrode junction is frozen, a solution supply step for supplying a solution and bringing the solution in contact with the membrane electrode junction, a precious metal dissolving step for dissolving a precious metal included in a cathode and anode into the solution by applying a voltage to the membrane electrode junction in contact with the solution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
