Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fuel quantity to be minimally charged through the whole preheating time, while preventing the tundish temperature from rising too high.
SOLUTION: The tundish preheating apparatus is provided with a controller 23 which controls the fuel quantity to be charged to a preheating burner 21 so that the cross sectional average temperature of internally lined refractory 12 of the tundish is set within 280 to 310°C and that the fuel quantity to be charged to the preheating burner 21 be minimized corresponding to the preheating hours, and a flow rate adjustment section 22.
