Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare the title compound, useful as intermediates for dyes, in high purity and high yield by the reaction of 1,5-dinitroanthraquinone with an equimolar or slightly excess of an alkali metal phenolate in a water-insoluble solvent such as chlorobenzene.
