PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain a binding material, by mixing a calcium-contg. desulfurization product by-produced at the time of a desulfurization treatment of the flue gases generated in a coal-fired power station with a prescribed amt. of flue ash and subjecting the mixture to oxidizing, firing and pulverizing, followed by mixing with blast furnace sand.
CONSTITUTION: The desulfurization product contg. the calcium sulfite and sulfate and calcium hydroxide or (and) calcium carbonate by-produced at the time of the desulfurization of the flue gases generated in the coal-fired power station is recovered. The desulfurization product is first mixed with the flue ash at such a ratio at which free lime is completely joined to aluminate and silicate reactable with water in the ensuing oxidizing and firing stage. The mixture is then oxidized and fired to obtain the polyphase mixture consisting of about 5 to 60 pts.wt. Cs, about 2 to 35 pts.wt. C12A7, about 1 to 20 pts.wt. C3A3Cs, about 3 to 50 pts.wt. β-C2S (in the respective formulas, C is CaO; (s) is SO3; A is Al2O3; S is SiO2). The mixture is then pulverized to a specific surface area of 3000 to 10000 cm2/g and 100g pulverized matter is mixed with 10 to 50 pts.wt. blast furnace sand having a specific surface area of 2500 to 5000 cm2/g, to produce the binding material.
