Title:
PREPARATION OF ULTRAFINE ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57143525
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fibers useful as a suede artificial leather, etc. without broken fibers and dripping, by extruding a core component containing electrically conductive carbon into an island component, enclosing the island component in the sea component, processing the fibers into a fabric, and separating the sea component.

CONSTITUTION: A sea component (C), e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylatestyrene copolymer, is extruded in a stable extruding state, and a sheath component (A), e.g. nylon 6, is extruded to be present in the sea component (C) in the form of islands. A core component (B), e.g. nylon containing carbon, containing electrically conductive carbon is then extruded into the sheath component (A) and spun to give island-in-sea fibers, which are then processed into fibers, fabrics or sheets. The sea component or the interposing component (C) is then separated to give the aimed fibers having the island component ≤0.8 denier in which plural island components are enclosed by the sea component or plural sheath-core fibers ≤0.8 denier are linked with the interposing component (C).
