Title:
PREPARATION OF VIRUS ANTIGEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001033446
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a virus antigen high in antigenic activity by reacting protein disulfide isomerase (DDI)-like protein with a virus antigen.

A virus antigen can be adapted to a hepatitis B virus surface antigen, a heptatisis B virus core antigen, a hepatitis C virus antigen or an HIV antigen without being especially restricted. By applying a process for reacting PDI-like protein to this virus antigen, the reconstitution or recombination of a disulfide bond necessary for the antigenic activity of the virus antigen is accelerated and the lowering of antigenic activity is prevented. In many proteins, a disulfide bond is participated in the formation of a stereoscopic structure but PDI-like protein accelerates the recombination of the disulfide bond of protein in the presence of a proper oxidation-reduction agent. By this method, a virus antigen high in antigenic activity is obtained and this virus antigen becomes useful for producing an immunoassay reagent.
