PURPOSE: To improve the quality of sintered ore and the yield of production, by injecting and adding powder and granular fuel which is a sintering raw material by means of a gas into the area from the intermediate position in the raw material flowing direction in a drum mixer to an ore discharge side.
CONSTITUTION: Powder ore, an auxiliary raw material, return sinter and a part of powder coke are charged into a drum mixer 8 by means of a belt conveyor 6. Since the mixer 8 is under rotation, the respective sintering raw materials mentioned above move toward the outlet of the mixer while the materials are mixed and granulated. The greater part of the sintering raw materials arriving at the intermediate point of the mixer 8 grow to the spurious particles each consisting of the primary stuck layer 2 enclosing the nucleus particle 1 of the powder ore. On the other hand, the greater part or the whole of the powder coke is injected from the intermediate point to the ore discharge side by the air through the air injection nozzle 7-b of a powder coke injector 7 from the rear part of the mixer 8 and is mixed with the above-described spurious particles. Then, the spurious particles which are formed with the secondary stuck layer 5 consisting essentially of the powder coke and has good combustibility come out from the mixer 8.
