Title:
PRINT WHEEL AND ENCODER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01203904
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a small encoder which can perform encoding even under a relatively unclean environment by providing a plurality of Hall effect sensors having leads fixed along a magnet while being spaced apart from each other.

CONSTITUTION: A longitudinal slot 38 is made in a shaft 34 and a permanent stripe magnet 36 is fitted fixedly therein. A flexure Hall effect sensor 60 is made of sprag and comprises linear Hall effect sensors 40a-40f spaced apart like a unit. These sensors are bonded by gold welding to the leads 62 of a so-called flexible printed circuit 64 and encased thus constituting the continuous supporting face for an assembled print wheel 30 (30a-30f). Consequently, the assembly 60 and magnet 36 can be simply buried in injection molded plastic, for example, composing the print wheel 30.
