Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which allows a user to specify, before a newly arranged job is executed, a transition of a mode, and which shortens the time during which the user must wait for sheet processing to be performed.SOLUTION: The printer comprises: transition means for allowing a printer to transition to a mode for performing sheet processing on sheets by a sheet processing device in a state in which printing of an image by printing means is controlled; specification means for, before a newly arranged job is executed, specifying a transition of the printer to the mode after printing of the job is completed but before printing of a different job is started; and control means for controlling the printer to transition to the mode after the printing of the job is completed but before the printing of the different job is started when the transition to the mode is specified by the specification means.
