Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method capable of sufficiently securing time for protecting operation of a device for data processing after power supply is cut off, without increasing electric power capable of being stored in a power circuit.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a driving system device 60; a driving system control unit 40; a device 70 for data processing; a data processing system control unit 50; a low voltage power circuit 100; and a voltage detection circuit 111. When input voltage V1 is cut off at a first operation mode where the input voltage V1 is supplied, the voltage detection circuit 111 transmits a detection signal S1 indicating cut-off of the input voltage V1, to the data processing system control unit 50. In response to the detection signal S1 indicating the cut-off of the input voltage V1, the data processing system control unit 50 switches at least one of a data processing unit 52 and the driving system control unit 40 to a second operation mode where power consumption is lower than the first operation mode, and executes protecting operation of the device 70 for data processing.
