Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a paper cutting device wherein a printed area of a paper having a printed image which is left when a power source of the printer is turned on, is surely discharged from a paper cutting device and an initial position setting operation for a carriage is carried out.
SOLUTION: In the case where a paper detecting means (not shown in the drawing) is in the ON state when the power source (not shown in the drawing) is turned on, a paper feed roller 13 of a paper feed mechanism is driven to convey a paper 11 by at least a dimension M. After that, the carriage 24 moves to a moving end position S and moves to a home position H therefrom. In the case where the paper detecting means is in the OFF state when the power source is turned on, the carriage 24 directly moves to the moving end position S and moves to the home position therefrom without driving the paper feed roller 13.
