PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a method for printing, and a recording medium capable of performing high speed printing.
SOLUTION: This printer comprises a printing section for performing printing, a conveying section for conveying a paper to the printing section and a control section for controlling the printing section and conveying section in accordance with electric data for image printing, which are accommodated in a housing 9. It further comprises an input section 5 provided on the top face of the housing 9. The input section 5 is equipped with a switching key which can select one of a first control mode wherein a plurality of images are printed on one piece of paper as an index by attributing a discrimination code corresponding to each image on the basis of thumbnail image data contained in the electric data and a second control mode wherein an image corresponding to the discrimination code is printed based on the image data contained in the electric data. The input section 5 is further equipped with an image selecting key for designating a discrimination code corresponding to an arbitrary image. As a result, it is possible to designate an image to be printed by the printer in a stand-alone operation in a short time.
