PURPOSE: To obtain a printer plotter which prevents the positional shift of roll paper having no sprocket holes only by the action of a friction roller.

CONSTITUTION: In a printer plotter provided with a roll cartridge, a friction roller having an axis parallel to the axis of the roll cartridge, and a recording paper feed path, preprocessing means ST1-ST3 are provided for repeating a processing, that recording paper is preliminarily fed to the feed path by a predetermined amount and rewound to the former position, by the predetermined number of times prior to printing, and printing processing means ST4, ST5 are provided for conducting printing processing on recording paper by a fixed length after the preprocessing and, thereafter, returning to the preprocessing.
