Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing the possibility that when printing is performed using a template image, a shortage of a coloring agent occurs in the middle of the printing.SOLUTION: A printer prints an image on a paper by using a coloring agent. The printer obtains a residual amount of the coloring agent and obtains a usable amount on the basis of the residual amount. The printer also obtains an amount of use necessary for printing a template image selected from a plurality of template images. Then, the printer determines whether the usable amount is the amount of use or more. When the determination is made that the usable amount is the amount of use or more, the printer permits printing of the selected template image.
