PURPOSE: To provide a printer wherein the apparent density of a character or figure recorded is constant even when recording is performed in such a state that a recording head is inclined, by controlling recording density due to the recording head corresponding to the mount angle of the recording head to a carriage.
CONSTITUTION: When printing is performed at a position where contact points 9, 11 are closed in such a state that a recording head 1 is inclined in the direction shown by an arrow 13, the dot density of a printed character becomes higher than that of the character printed at a position where the printing head is not inclined (at a position where the contact points 9, 10 are closed) if a printing font is same and becomes lower than that of the character printed at a position where the printing head is further inclined (at a position where contact points 9, 12 are closed) and, therefore, the printing density of the printed character in each dot unit may be set to a medium degree. As a result, when information is stored in RAM within a recording control part 21 and the driving voltage or current supply time of the recording head is selected corresponding to the position of the contact points detected to drive a recording head 24, apparent recording density can be made constant regardless of the inclination of the head.
