PURPOSE: To obtain extensive printing pressure levels and to decrease the load of an upper level controller, by digitally processing the printing pressure, and performing the printing pressure control and ribbon feeding control by the same microcomputer.
CONSTITUTION: When a power source is turned ON, the microcomputer 9 is initialized. At first, a blank feeding of the ribbon is performed to obtain the proper printing density. When a striking command is sent from the upper level controller 6, the command is received through an input circuit 8, and a code A corresponding to the striking command data is read out of a memory circuit 15. A variable code from a printing pressure switch 7 is received, and a code B corresponding to the variable code is read out of the memory circuit 15. Both codes A and B are applied to a striking solenoid 12 through a D/A converter 10 and a driver 11 as a voltage in analog quantity. After the printing, a ribbon feeding motor 14 is driven through a motor driver 13.
