To provide a printing control device capable of improving a printing throughput.

A printing control device is provided with a carriage, movable into a predetermined direction under the condition of retaining a recording head, a carriage motor for driving the carriage and a paper feeding motor for feeding a paper. The driving of the paper feeding motor is started while the carriage is still moving after the recording head has finished a printing per one scan. Further, the driving of the carriage motor is started while the paper feeding motor is effecting the paper feeding operation still and the driving of the paper feeding motor is stopped immediately before starting printing by the recording head. According to this method, the carriage motor and the paper feeding motor are driven simultaneously for a period of time as long as possible without deteriorating the quality of printing whereby a printing throughput is improved.
