Abstract:
A printing unit for a rotary printing machine, having two plate cylinders of mutually equal diameter arranged for printing a web (or sheets) passing therebetween, at least one of the cylinders having a resilient covering between its thin wrap around plate and the cylinder body whereby it acts as an impression cylinder for the other plate cylinder. Both cylinders may have resilient coverings and thin wrap round plates. Such a printing unit prints on each successive rotation of the cylinders and prints the web (or sheets) on both sides simultaneously.
