PURPOSE: To provide a printing device such as a laser printer which is constituted so that it is timely and exactly recognized that a connector used for connecting a temperature sensor disposed in the fixing device thereof is forgotten to be connected and which is inexpensively constituted without adding a special signal conductor or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A paper sensor 30 disposed in the fixing device is connected to a controller 90 side through the connector 90b together with the temperature sensor 70d. Just after a power source is turned on, the condition of the signal conductor 90f connected to the sensor 30 is detected. Then, when the potential thereof is a high level showing that the paper does not exist, it is judged to be normal. When it is a low level being equal to a level showing that the paper exists, it is judged that the paper is left to be jammed or the connector 90b is forgotten to be connected. Then, an annunciator is actuated.
