PURPOSE: To provide a printing ink having excellent drying characteristics and printing workability, which comprises a colorant, a varnish and a specific additive.

CONSTITUTION: 10W40wt% colorant is mixed with 50W80wt% varnish, 5W80wt% solvent for ink, 0.005W0.5wt% dryer (e.g: cobalt naphthenate) and 0.0001W0.005mol (in terms of carboxyl group per 100g of ink) reaction product obtained by reacting 1mol of heat-reactive phenolic resin with 0.02W2.0mol of 5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride at 50W200°C for 0.1W20hr and optionally 0.001W2.0wt% reducible org. compd. of the formula I (wherein R1 is a compd. of the formula II, -OH, -OH2, -HN.CH3, -NH.C2H5, etc.; R2WR4 are each independently H, F, Cl, Br, I, a 1W4C alkyl, etc.).
