PURPOSE: To achieve an automation enabling a continuous printing work simply by setting for the printing process initially by a method wherein the printing process including number of sheets for each plate is inputted into an input unit beforehand and shown on a display simultaneously with the inputting thereof.

CONSTITUTION: An input unit is made up of power-on, starting, stopping, end cycle, clock start and clock stopping switches and numeric, input, mode alteration, automatic, insert, reset and cancel keys and inputs number of printing sheets for each plate or the like. A display 2 shows the number of printing sheets for each plate at (1), (2), (3), (4)... sequentially on a display section 4 indicating a on-going plate by a mark 5, the total number of printing sheets at 6 and the number of residual sheets at 7 separately. A printing is performed according to the set number of sheets upon the setting of papers on a printing machine in the number matched with the total number of printing sheets. A controller 3 is composed of a memory section for memorizing input data and a controller for controlling said display, the memory section and the printing press.
