To simply and effectively print an inner surface of a cylindrical component like a high resistance tube for constituting a main lens system of a cathode ray tube.
Transfer pads 3 oppositely disposed near an inner surface of a work W are extended, brought at their outer peripheral surfaces 30 into pressure contact with the inner surface of the work W, and ink patterns previously adhered to the surfaces 30 are transferred to the inner surface of the work W. Ink holding irregular patterns 33 are provided on the surfaces 30 of the pads 3 and quantity of ink 7 previously adhered to the surfaces 30 is controlled. Film thicknesses of the pads 3 are constituted gradually thin from both ends toward a center so that a thin and easily extendable center is sequentially brought into close contact with the inner surface of the work W. Thus, the air between the surfaces 30 of the pads 3 and the inner surface of the work W is efficiently exhausted to prevent residue of bubble therebetween.
