Abstract:

To establish a myeloma cell line where the gene encoding prion protein is deleted, to produce an anti-prion monoclonal antibody-productive prionless hybridoma by using the myeloma cell line, to produce prion protein-free vaccines, and to detect abnormal prion proteins.

The prionless myeloma cell line where the gene encoding the prion protein is deleted is provided. A method for producing the myeloma cell line is also provided.
