PURPOSE: To facilitate manufacture of a double-wall blow-molded article with small gap by equipping a mold comprising one recess half and the other half including a piston to support a template conforming to the recess half mold cavity, blow-molding a parison, closing the mold, and then driving the piston.
CONSTITUTION: A mold comprising a rigid recess first half 2 and a second half 3 including moving piston 4 is provided in this process. A template 5 formed conforming to the mold cavity 6 of the first half 2 is supported by the movable piston 4. Molding is carried out by positioning wall bodies A, B of a extruded parison in between both halves 2, 3, closing both halves 2, 3, and blowing air into the parison 1 through a nozzle to deform the parison 1 to make the inside face of the mold cavity 6 conform to the surface of the template 5. Simultaneously the template 5 is pushed into the mold cavity 6 to form the parison 1 into a prescribed shape. The wall face B and the wall face A are extended by the template 5 and the air pressure in the hollow space 7 respectively.
