Abstract:

To propose a catalyst that has practically high strength in a fix-bed multitubular reactor and a high yield of the object product in a process for subjecting a carbocyclic compound or heterocyclic compound to vapor-phase catalytic ammoxidation to produce a corresponding aromatic nitrile or heterocyclic nitrile.

A high-strength catalyst prepared by mixing a chromium compound treated with at least one chromium-treating agent selected from alcohols, saccharides, organic oxycompounds and water-soluble aldehydes, an oxide of one or more kinds of metal selected from V, Mo and Fe and alumina or titania is used in the process for subjecting the carbocyclic compound or heterocyclic compound and a gas mixture containing ammonia and oxygen to catalytic reaction to produce the corresponding aromatic nitrile or heterocyclic nitrile.
