Abstract:

To provide a process by which a large amount of shells disposed of as fishery waste can be recovered as resources and also to provide a system for the process.

This process comprises: an accumulation step for accumulating waste shells discharged after utilization of shellfishes as fishery products, in a place such as accumulation yard; a moderate temperature treatment step for treating the accumulated waste shells at such a moderate temperature that no alkalization of the shells is caused and any residual organic matter in the shells can be removed, by using a heating section 5a of a processing treatment device 5; and if necessary, a crushing step for crushing the shells into lumps before or after performing the moderate temperature treatment step; wherein as the moderate temperature in the moderate temperature treatment step, a temperature in the range of 350-600°C can be used.
