Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rotary vibrations of a rotary joint, and to facilitate the switching of a suction holding surface corresponding to platy workpiece different in size or shape.SOLUTION: A machining device 1 is equipped with holding means 10 which sucks and holds platy workpiece. The holding means 10 is equipped with a chuck table 11, a base 16 on which the chuck table is installed, and a switching portion 20 which has branch pipes 21a, 21b, 21c connected to a suction source 19 and branched into plural pipes. Therefore, as compared with a conventional one, the rotary joint 22 can be configured to be short, and rotary vibrations of the rotary joint 22 coupled to a lower end of the base 16 can be prevented. The switching portion 20 selects first suction paths 17a, 17b or 17c in the base 16 to connect to branch pipes 21a, 21b or 21c, so that a required suction holding surface can be easily switched according to the size of the platy workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
